Awakenings: A Call to Wings

In "Awakenings: A Call to Wings" I show portraits, many (but not all) of winged creatures.

Those who once flew the heavens and hells of antiquity as deities, who now lay, wings flattened, beneath our archeological ruins.

To explore these questions, I visited Pompeii, the British Museum and France's Dordogne region. There, I surveyed thousands of archeological artifacts of winged creatures, winging their way through a host of East/West ancient cultures.

I came home thinking we humans have a psychological need for otherworldly spirits and guides.
